  Mission Statement
Our mission is to find comprehensive solutions for the unmet needs of seniors and their caregivers.
  History
The Council on Aging of Greater Nashville was founded in 1985 as a recommendation from a Mayoral task force on senior issues. The task force saw the need for a nonpartisan group to continually study gaps in services for seniors. Until 2001, COA operated as a program of the
Council of Community Services. It is now an independent 501c3 non-profit agency.

Development
The Development Committee works to ensure that the Council on Aging has the financial resources it needs to fulfill its mission and help older adults in our community. The Committee works on both immediate and long-term goals. COA would not be possible without the support of volunteers and the financial assistance it receives from membership donations, memorial bequests, sponsors of events, grants and other contributions. In addition to developing short range sources of support, the Development Committee has initiated a program to inform members and others of planned giving opportunities to assure the future of COA.

More information about COA can also be found at www.givingmatters.com. If you are interested in supporting COA and its programs and would like to make your donation via credit card payment, you may do so on the GivingMatters website. Cash, check, or other donations may be sent directly to COA. Thank you for supporting COA.
