DISCOVER NASHVILLE
Twice a year 30 older adults embark on a journey with Discover Nashville to get to know their city better and learn about opportunities to make a difference in their community. Through tours, lectures, discussions, demonstrations and first hand experiences the participants discover more about their city and volunteer activities where they can make a difference.

Tennessean columnist, Ms. Cheap (aka Mary Hance) has endorsed the program in her column in The Tennessean. Click on the links below to read these articles:

Discover Nashville Alumni Group
Since the first class of Discover Nashville graduated in Fall 2001, the participants have wanted to reunite with the friends they made and continue to learn new things about the community, as a result the Discover Nashville Alumni Group was created.

Three times a year the alums gather to hear speakers such as John Seigenthaler and attend a Nashville history class by Dr. Carole Bucy. The alumni group has also visited locations such as Congregation Micah, Historic Germantown, Sri Ganesha Hindu Cultural Arts Center, The Dyer Observatory, and Tuck-Hinton Architects.

Alumni Group events are open to those persons who have completed the seven-week Discover Nashville program.

For more information on Discover Nashville or the Discover Alumni Events, please contact Donna Kumar.
