Seniors Concerned About Money Schemes
Seniors are frequently victims of many different types of financial exploitation. In 2006 the Council on Aging studied many of the more common scams occuring both nationally and in the Middle Tennessee area. Our Community Assessment Committee also heard from law enforcement officials, bankers, social workers and others working with seniors. With funding from the West End Home Foundation, the committee developed materials useful to both seniors, their families, and to those who work with them.
SCAMS Brochure
You may download a copy of a brochure designed to help seniors be aware of potential scams. The brochure titled Protecting Your Money and Identity: Tips for Seniors is made possible with funding from the West End Home Foundation. COA grants permission for the reprint of these flyers for the purpose of educating seniors and their families about possible scams.
