SCAMS
Seniors Concerned About Money Schemes
Overview
Senior citizens are frequent victims of many different types of financial exploitation. During 2006 the Council on Aging of Greater Nashville studied many of the more common scams both nationally and in the Middle Tennessee area. The Community Assessment Committee also heard from law enforcement officials, bankers, social workers and others working with seniors. With funding from the West End Home Foundation, the Committee developed materials useful to both seniors and to those who work with them. These materials were distributed at a seminar for professionals on March 29, 2006, and are now available for download by anyone (see below). We hope that you will find these materials and resources useful for you or someone you know.
